“It was a good team win tonight,” said head coach Adam Reeb. “We played a really aggressive set of doubles matches, which was great to see, and we carried that aggressiveness into singles. We challenged the girls with goals of stepping in and coming forward a lot tonight and I was pleased with the way they executed these strategies. We’ve got two weeks now to get ready for our first two WAC matches. I’m excited with where we’re at as a team and I’m looking forward to preparing for our upcoming conference matches."
The Redhawks did not allow George Fox a single point in doubles matches as they earned the first point, winning all three matches, 6-0.
Heading into singles play, Seattle U won all six matches in straight sets, with Michelle Lui (Bellevue, Wash.) playing a perfect match to hold her opponent scoreless, 6-0, 6-0.
Seattle U starts conference play on Sunday, Mar. 19 vs. UMKC and Sunday, Mar. 20 vs. Grand Canyon, matches which will be played in Phoenix, Ariz. The Redhawks return home vs. CSU Fullerton on Wednesday, Mar. 30 at 11 a.m.
