“Matt had a great weekend,” said head coach Adam Reeb. “He played some great doubles with Tanner [Berkabile] and they’re really clicking now. He had two nice singles wins as well, including clinching our match against Idaho State on Saturday. It was so fun watching him play so well in that pressure situation. He stayed calm and executed his game and came through big time when the team needed him to.”
Alderson went 2-1 in singles over the weekend and 2-0 in doubles matches finished over the weekend as the Redhawks went 2-1 as a team in two matches vs. Idaho State and one vs. Lewis-Clark State. In a 4-3 victory over Idaho State, with the match tied three-all, Alderson fell behind early at No. 6 singles, but would win the second and third set to clinch the decision in Seattle U’s favor.
The Redhawks return home to host five straight matches starting with Whitman on Saturday, Feb. 27 at 5 p.m.
