Thanks to his contributions in the Seattle University men’s basketball team’s current five-game winning streak, sophomore guard Jadon Cohee (Langley, B.C.) has been named the Featured Student-Athlete of the Week on GoSeattleU.com.
Last weekend, Cohee made significant contributions off the bench as the Redhawks swept the weekend. Thursday night against Chicago State, he hit two key three-pointers, plus he was a perfect 4-for-4 from the free throw line to finish with 10 points. Saturday night against Missouri-Kansas City, he hit another three-pointer and was 2-for-2 from the free throw line as he collected seven points in the Redhawks’ 10-point victory.
This season, Cohee has played in all 23 games, including 18 starts, averaging 7.1 points per game. He is shooting 83.7 percent (36-for-43) from the free throw line, plus he is third on the team with 15 made three-pointers. He has reached double figures in scoring nine times so far this year, including a season-high 15 points against New Mexico State Jan. 21.
In the classroom, Cohee is majoring in strategic communications and currently carries a 3.161 grade point average. Cohee has been a consistent member of the playing rotation since the start of his collegiate career, as he appeared in all 34 games for the Redhawks last season, averaging 5.7 points per game.
