After leading Seattle University with 16 points during the Redhawks’ 70-59 victory over UT Rio Grande Valley, senior Jack Crook (Manchester, England) has been named the Featured Student-Athlete of the Week on GoSeattleU.com.

Crook shot 8-of-12 from the field, including a perfect 5-of-5 in the second half, to help Seattle U earn its second Western Athletic Conference victory of the season. Crook also pulled down four rebounds and dished out five assists Saturday night.

For the season, Crook is averaging 9.8 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game as he is shooting 52 percent (78-of-150) from the field, currently fifth in field goal percentage in the league. He has reached double figures in scoring 11 times, with a season-high 22-point performance against Mississippi Valley State.

Crook is majoring in strategic communications and currently carries a 3.294 grade point average. Last season, Crook was named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court as well as Academic All-WAC for his academic work.

The Seattle University men’s basketball team (8-11, 2-3 WAC) heads to Orem, Utah, to face Utah Valley University Thursday, Jan. 28, and to Phoenix, Ariz., to take on Grand Canyon University Saturday, Jan. 30. Both games are scheduled to start at 7 p.m. local time (6 p.m. Pacific time) and will be broadcast live on 770 AM KTTH.
