Seattle University’s Michelle Lui (Bellevue, Wash.) has been named Western Athletic Conference Female Tennis Player of the Month for the month of October 2015. Last year’s WAC Freshman of the Year also won the award for the month of September.

Lui was one of four Redhawks to represent the team for the second straight year at the ITA Regionals match at Stanford, competing against some of the region’s best collegiate tennis competitors. She earned a victory in open singles, also taking one of the nation’s best players, Stanford’s Kimberly Yee, to three sets. She also earned a victory in dual play vs. Pacific Lutheran as Seattle U started 1-0 on the season.

In doubles competition, she and partner Kelli Woodman (Denver, Colo.) defeated Washington State’s Matejevic and Monahan.

The Redhawk women’s tennis team closes the fall season at the Bulldog Invitational this weekend at Gonzaga and opens the spring season on Saturday, Jan. 9 at Washington. The team hosts their first home match of the spring the following day (Sunday, Jan. 10) vs. Eastern Washington.
