- Press release courtesy of Dave Cook, Sports Information Director, Eastern Washington   Out of safety concerns and road closures because of high winds, Eagle-Redhawk game will be delayed a day   A historic wind storm in the Inland Northwest has caused the postponement of tonight’s Eastern Washington versus Seattle men’s basketball game at Reese Court in Cheney, Wash. The game will now be played Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. Pacific time.   Sustained winds of 40 miles per hour have caused several road closures and other dangerous situations. The Redhawks will remain at a hotel in Spokane instead of making the trek to Cheney, plus other staff and fans won’t have to risk the dangerous conditions.   “For the safety of all concerned, we were fortunate enough to have the teams and officials stay the night and play at mid-day on Wednesday,” said Eastern athletic director Bill Chaves.   Ticket holders unable to use their tickets on Wednesday will have their tickets honored at the door for any future game.   The game will be broadcast on 770 AM KTTH on a tape-delay basis at 6 p.m. Wednesday, with Bud Nameck, former broadcaster for the Washington State Cougars, on the call.
