In the week leading up to the start of the 2015-16 collegiate men’s basketball season, fans of Seattle University will have several opportunities to hear from and interact with head coach Cameron Dollar as the Redhawks prepare for their season opener Nov. 13.
On Tuesday, Nov. 10, Seattle U will host the first Courtside Club Luncheon of the season at Jimmy’s on Broadway, located within the Silver Cloud Hotel on the corner of Madison and Broadway. Check-in and a lunch buffet will start at 11:30 a.m., followed by the program of speakers at approximately 12 noon. Dollar will give the attendees his views on the team as they begin the year, and those in attendance will also hear from Gary Hill Jr., one of the broadcasters of Seattle U men’s basketball on 770 AM KTTH. Tickets for the luncheon are $30 each and can be purchased online at http://tinyurl.com/su-cc-Tickets.
Two days later, Dollar will once again participate in an online chat hosted by the Seattle Times. The chat will take place Thursday, Nov. 12, from 12 noon to 1 p.m., as Dollar will answer questions from anyone who submits them through the Seattle Times website. A link to the chat will be established shortly before it starts at http://www.seattletimes.com/sports/.
Also on Nov. 12, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., Dollar will join Dave “The Groz” Grosby and Hill for the preview edition of the Seattle U Coaches Show, to air later that night from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. on 770 AM KTTH. They will be joined by special guests Elgin Baylor, the Hall of Fame player who will be in town for the annual Elgin Baylor Classic the next night, and John Castellani, the head coach of the 1957-58 squad that reached the NCAA title game. The show will emanate from the Night Owl Lounge at 13 Coins Restaurant, located at 125 Boren Avenue North in Seattle.
Once again, Grosby and Hill will broadcast every Seattle U men’s basketball game live on 770 AM KTTH, starting with the pregame show shortly before tipoff. In addition, the Redhawks will be televised by the American Sports Network three times, all at home (Jan. 16 vs. CSU Bakersfield, Feb. 4 vs. Chicago State, Feb. 6 vs. UMKC), and by the Pac-12 Network twice for road games at California Dec. 1 and at Washington Dec. 22. Also, the WAC Digital Network (www.wacsports.com/live) has tabbed 11 Redhawk contests to be streamed online, starting with the Nov. 23 game against Eastern Washington.
The Seattle University men’s basketball team opens the 2015-16 season Friday, Nov. 13, against Arkansas-Pine Bluff starting at 7:30 p.m. at KeyArena. The Redhawks will play 15 games at KeyArena this season, including contests against Eastern Washington, UC Santa Barbara, and UC Davis. Season tickets are available by contacting the Seattle U Athletics Ticket Office at 206-398-GOSU (4678), while single-game tickets are on sale through the ticket page on GoSeattleU.com.
