The Redhawks will host several home competitions throughout spring 2016.

Seattle University men’s and women’s tennis announces their spring 2016 competition schedule just prior to each team competing at Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Regionals this weekend.

The men start with a pair of road doubleheaders vs. Pac-12 opponents, on Jan. 9 at Washington and Jan. 16 at Oregon. The Redhawks continue regional play at Eastern Washington on Jan. 23 and with back-to-back road swings south at Portland State (Jan. 30) and Portland (Feb. 5).

Feb. 7 will mark the men’s first home match of the season, starting a three-match homestand vs. Idaho, Portland State (Feb. 12), and George Fox (Feb. 13), before SU plays a pair of matches in Pocatello, Idaho vs. Lewis-Clark State College and Idaho State on Feb. 20-21.

The men return home for five straight home matches from Feb. 27-Mar. 16 including vs. Whitman, Pacific Lutheran, Swarthmore, Pacific (Ore.), and Montana State.

The women also open the spring season at Washington (Jan. 9) and will play 11 of 14 on the road to open non-conference play versus Colorado State (Jan. 22), Air Force Academy (Jan. 23), Idaho (Feb. 4), Lewis-Clark State College (Feb. 5), College of Idaho (Feb. 5), Washington State (Feb. 6), Northern Arizona (Feb. 6), Gonzaga (Feb. 13), Northern Colorado (Feb. 26), and Portland State (Feb. 26).

The Redhawk women will host Eastern Washington (Jan. 10), South Dakota State (Feb. 7), and George Fox (Mar. 5) prior to the start of WAC play as well as CSU Fullerton (Mar. 30), Whitman (Apr. 16), and Idaho (Apr. 23) in the middle of their league schedule.

The end of March brings conference play for both teams as the men face New Mexico State, UMKC, and UTRGV in Las Cruces, N.M. (Mar. 25-27) and Grand Canyon and Chicago State in Kansas City, Mo. (Apr. 9-10). The women face UMKC and Grand Canyon in Phoenix (Mar. 19-20) as well as Chicago State, UTRGV, and New Mexico State in Chicago (Apr. 1-3).

Men's tennis finishes the regular season at home with a Senior Day match versus Linfield on Apr. 23 at the SU Tennis Courts.

The 2016 Western Athletic Conference tournament will be held in Edinburg, Texas Apr. 29-May 1.
