The Seattle University women’s golf team was consistent throughout the first day of the Rose City Collegiate, ending Monday in sixth place after 36 holes of the tournament hosted by Portland State University at the Langdon Farms Golf Club.

Alexus Song (Auburn, Wash.) started her day with two birdies during her first three holes of the tournament, but she slipped back after shooting 75 (+3) in the opening round. During the afternoon, she recovered from an opening double-bogey with three birdies to shoot even-par 72, finishing the day in a tie for 13th place at 147 (+3).

Yen Ting Wong (Singapore) also started strong with a birdie on her second hole of the day, but three bogeys equaled a first round 74 (+2), followed by a second round score of 75 (+3) for a 36-hole total of 149 (+5), good enough for a tie for 17th place. Dorsey Addicks (Big Sky, Mont.) shot back-to-back rounds of 76 (+4) to finish the day in a tie for 29th place at 152 (+8).

Jamie Huo (Kent, Wash.) earned three birdies over her first eight holes of the day, but a double-bogey on her ninth hole started a rough stretch, as four bogeys over the next nine holes resulted in an opening round 75 (+3), and then she shot 78 (+6) in the second round despite making an eagle on the par-five eighth hole to end the day in a tie for 31st place at 153 (+9).

Ellen Brantberg (Stockholm, Sweden) earned two birdies over a five-hole stretch to complete the first round with a score of 76 (+4), but a second round score of 79 (+7) dropped her into 47th place at 155 (+11). Playing as an individual, Juhee Lee (Wilsonville, Ore.) posted rounds of 76 (+4) and 80 (+8) to finish the day in a tie for 48th place at 156 (+12).

As a team, Seattle U combined for rounds of 300 (+12) and 301 (+13) to finish the day in sixth place among the 15-team field at 601 (+25). San Francisco and Fresno State are tied for the team lead after 36 holes at 581 (+5), three strokes ahead of Oregon State, with San Francisco’s Ayaka Suzuki taking the individual lead by three strokes with a two-round total of 139 (-5).
