The freshman forward has scored three of the Redhawks' 11 goals through seven games.

Seattle University women’s soccer freshman forward Summer Mason (Carlsbad, Calif.) has been named Western Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 7-13. The honor marks the first of Mason’s career and the first WAC weekly award for the team this season.

Mason scored a pair of goals over the weekend, one apiece in each of the Redhawks’ two victories. She scored her first career game-winner in the 15th minute vs. Purdue and scored the first goal of the match vs. Creighton.

The Redhawks swept their weekend in Missoula with a 3-2 victory over Creighton on Friday and a 2-0 shutout versus Purdue on Sunday, their third shutout of the season.

Seattle U (5-2-0) closes their non-conference schedule this weekend at Idaho on Sunday, Sept. 20 (4 p.m. PT) and will open WAC play on the road next weekend (Saturday, Sept. 26 at Utah Valley, 6 p.m. PT). The Redhawks return home on Friday, Oct. 9 for their WAC home opener vs. UTRGV.
