ANOTHER WEEK, ANOTHER ROAD TRIP: With classes not starting until Sept. 23, the Seattle University volleyball team has a chance to see some of the southeastern part of the United States, first heading to Murfreesboro, Tenn., for the Middle Tennessee Invitational. The Redhawks will play two matches Saturday, first facing Big 12 member Kansas State before taking on VCU later in the day. Seattle U will take on Middle Tennessee next Monday in a separate match before continuing its cross country journey to Florida. The Redhawks are looking to rebound after a tough weekend at Idaho.

CATCHING UP ON THE WAC: After the first two weeks of the 2015 season, Seattle U is one of four Western Athletic Conference teams with a .500 or better overall record. New Mexico State has the best overall record among WAC schools at 5-2, followed by Texas Rio Grande Valley at 4-3 and Seattle U and Missouri-Kansas City at 3-3. As a team, the Redhawks lead the conference in opponent hitting percentage (.124), blocks per set (3.06), and service aces per set (1.78). Seattle U is second in assists per set (11.00), fifth in both hitting percentage (.188) and kills per set (11.61), and seventh in digs per set (12.44). Individually, three Redhawks currently sit at the top of WAC statistical rankings: Martina Samadan in hitting percentage (.408), Kerry Lane in assists per set (9.77), and Maja Stojanovic in blocks per set (1.50). Four Seattle U players are in the top 10 in the WAC in both blocks per set and service aces per set. After Stojanovic, Samadan and Jelena Vujcin are tied for third with 1.06 blocks per set, followed by Lane in a tie for seventh place with 1.00 blocks per set. Matea Mamic is in second place in the league in service aces per set (0.50), ahead of Kirstin Schauble in a tie for fourth place (0.40), Vujcin in sixth place (0.33), and Lane in 10th place (0.31). Vujcin is also in 10th place in kills per set (2.61), while Schauble occupies the same position in digs per set (2.87), just behind Mary Orbeta in a tie for eighth place with 3.00 digs per set.

NCAA STATISTICAL RANKINGS: As a team, Seattle U is 13th in the country in blocks per set (3.06) and 18th in opponent hitting percentage (.124). Maja Stojanovic is 20th in Division I in blocks per set (1.50), and Matea Mamic is 46th in service aces per set (0.50).
