With the Commitment to Equity renovation of the Connolly Center North Court continuing through the fall, the Seattle University athletics department has come to an agreement with Seattle Academy of Arts and Sciences for the Redhawk volleyball team to play its home matches at Seattle Academy during the 2015 season.
The entrance to the gymnasium at Seattle Academy is located at 1111 13th Avenue near the corner of 13th Avenue and East Spring Street. Parking will be available in the Seattle University visitor lot, accessible by turning into the SU campus on East Marion Street off 12th Avenue.
The Redhawks will host its annual Red and White Scrimmage Saturday, Aug. 22, at 3 p.m. at Seattle Academy. After five straight weekends on the road to start the regular season, Seattle U will host Grand Canyon Thursday, Oct. 1 and CSU Bakersfield Saturday, Oct. 3.
Five of Seattle U’s final seven conference matches will take place at Seattle Academy, starting with contests against Chicago State Thursday, Oct. 22, and Missouri-Kansas City Saturday, Oct. 24. The Redhawks wrap up the WAC schedule with home matches against Utah Valley (Nov. 7), New Mexico State (Nov. 11), and University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (Nov. 14). Seattle U is scheduled to close the regular season against Portland Friday, Nov. 27.
The Seattle University volleyball team is shooting for its third straight winning conference record as well as a return to the WAC Tournament title match. The Redhawks will call the refurbished North Court home once again starting in the 2016 season.
