“We have a very exciting schedule for this upcoming season,” said Bonvicini. “Our non-conference games will definitely prepare us for conference play this year. There are many important milestones this year with the renovation of Connolly Center. Our facility will be significantly upgraded and we are looking forward to playing in a first-class facility. Our goal is to win the Western Athletic Conference and I know this schedule will prepare us well.”
SU will open the season hosting Montana State (Nov. 13), Hampton (Nov. 20), Denver (Dec. 3), Boise State (Dec. 19), UC Riverside (Dec. 21), and Long Beach State (Dec. 31) in non-conference play. Their first road game will mirror their first home game as they travel to Montana (Nov.15) after facing their in-state rival in the regular season opener. On Nov. 18, the Redhawks will face the crosstown Huskies at Alaska Airlines Arena in the teams’ annual meeting.
The team will close the month traveling to former WAC foe Idaho (Nov. 23) before heading to Loyola Marymount for a Thanksgiving Tournament (Nov. 27-28). SU will then travel to Idaho State (Dec. 5), Portland State (Dec. 15), Oregon (Dec. 28) to close 2015.
Opening 2016 on the road at CSU Northridge (Jan. 2) to close non-conference play, the Redhawks open WAC play at home versus UMKC (Jan. 7) and Chicago State (Jan. 9). Other chances for fans to see the team at home in conference play include Utah Valley (Jan. 28), Grand Canyon (Jan. 30), University of Texas-Rio Grande Valley (Feb. 18), formerly UTPA, New Mexico State (Feb. 20), and CSU Bakersfield (Mar. 5).
Outside of Seattle in conference play, Seattle U will face CSU Bakersfield (Jan. 16), New Mexico State (Jan. 21), University of Texas-Rio Grande Valley (Jan. 23), Chicago State (Feb. 4), UMKC (Feb. 6), Grand Canyon (Feb. 13), and Utah Valley (Feb. 27).
Of note, for the fourth straight year in as many years in the league, the Redhawks will close the regular season on their home court. The following weekend, from Mar. 9-12, the team will look to return to the WAC title game for the third time in four years and earn the program’s first WAC tournament title.
