Bill Hogan, Director of Athletics at Seattle University, has announced that Adam Reeb has accepted the position of head men’s and women’s tennis coach at the school, effective August 10.

For the past two seasons, Reeb has been the head men’s and women’s tennis coach at McKendree University, an NCAA Division II program located in Lebanon, Ill. He guided the men’s tennis team to a dual match record of 35-15 (.700), qualifying for the conference championships in both years. In 2014, he led the squad to its best finish in the Great Lakes Valley Conference (fourth place) and to its first-ever berth into the NCAA Tournament.

Reeb helped the McKendree women’s tennis team post a 31-18 (.633) dual match record, qualifying for the 2014 GLVC Tennis Championships, the program’s first-ever appearance in the conference tournament. Between the two teams, Reeb mentored five All-Conference players, 34 ITA Scholar-Athlete nominees, and 39 GLVC Academic All-Conference honorees, with both the men’s and women’s teams also earning ITA All-Academic Team and GLVC Team Academic All-Conference accolades.

"I am honored and humbled to be given the opportunity to lead the Seattle University Redhawks tennis program. I want to thank Bill (Hogan) and (associate AD) Shawn (Farrell) for this amazing opportunity,” said Reeb. “Seattle University is a place where my continuing passion for college tennis can grow and thrive, and I can help my student-athletes be all they can be. I've been impressed with everyone I've come into contact with at SU, and I believe our tennis student-athletes and teams have so much potential to do great things. I can't wait to get started working with the entire Redhawks team."

At both McKendree and Lindenwood University in Belleville, Ill., where he served as head men’s and women’s tennis coach in the 2012-13 season, he coordinated and ran fundraising tennis tournaments that benefitted the respective programs. He also created and ran the official Facebook pages for both programs during his various head coaching tenures.

Reeb is very familiar with life at a Jesuit university, having served as both a player (2005-09) and an assistant coach (2010-12) at Saint Louis University. As a student-athlete with the Billikens, he served as team co-captain in both his junior and senior seasons, finishing his collegiate career ranked seventh all-time in program history for career doubles victories. A three-time honoree on the Atlantic-10 Academic All-Conference Team, Reeb received the team’s Spirit Award in both 2006 and 2009 as well as the squad’s Most Improved Player award in 2008.

“Adam’s proven track record of student-athlete success, both on the tennis court and in the classroom, as well as his enthusiasm and familiarity with the Jesuit mission, is just what the Redhawk tennis program needs as it looks to contend for conference titles and NCAA Tournament berths,” Hogan said.

Reeb received his Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Saint Louis University in 2009 and his Master of Sport Science degree from the United States Sports Academy in 2010. At Saint Louis University, he was named the Outstanding Senior in Management by the John Cook School of Business and became a member of both the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and Beta Gamma Sigma.

The Seattle University tennis teams will aim to win the 2016 Western Athletic Conference Men’s and Women’s Tennis Tournaments, hosted by the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley April 29-May 1, to earn the league’s automatic berths into their respective NCAA Tournaments.
