Stephanie Verdoia (Salt Lake City, Utah), a 2015 Seattle U alumna from the Seattle University women’s soccer team, adds further to her list of accolades as she has been selected to represent the Western Athletic Conference for the 2015 NCAA Woman of the Year award. Verdoia was selected from a group of nominees from member schools by WAC senior woman administrator’s (SWA’s). In its 25th year, the award recognizes graduating female student-athletes for excellence in academics, athletics, community service, and leadership.

Verdoia was one of 480 female student-athletes nominated for the honor and is one of 147 named 2015 Woman of the Year honorees by conferences and independent schools.

Next in the process, the Woman of the Year selection committee will narrow the list to the top 10 honorees in each division. These top 30 honorees will be announced in early September before the top nine finalists (three from each division) are announced in late September. The NCAA Committee on Women’s Athletics will vote for the 2015 Woman of the Year from this list of nine finalists.

The top 30 honorees will be honored and the 2015 NCAA Woman of the Year will be named in Indianapolis on Sunday, Oct. 18.
