Seattle University women's basketball head coach Joan Bonvicini has been named a SportsPerson of the Year by Grand Lodge of the Northwest alongside Baseball Hall of Fame Third Baseman and Broadcaster Ron Santo.
A luncheon to honor Bonvicini and Santo will take place on Sunday, Oct. 25, 2015 at the American Legion Post 234 Hall in Mountlake Terrace (22909 56th Ave W. Mountlake Terrace, WA 98043). A donation of $25.00 is requested to attend the luncheon.
Bonvicini enters her seventh season at Seattle University behind an all-time career record of 692-400 and is currently 11th on the NCAA DI wins list for active Division I women's basketball head coaches. She became the 18th coach in NCAA Division I women's basketball history to reach the 600-win mark in February 2007. The Redhawk head coach also boasts 22 20-win seasons over her historic coaching career.
