The Seattle University women’s golf team maintained its eighth-place position as play concluded Tuesday at the Cowgirl Classic, hosted by the University of Wyoming at the Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club.

Alexus Song (Auburn, Wash.) collected three birdies on the back nine as she posted her best round of the tournament at even-par 72, finishing in a tie for 13th place at 222 (+6). Jamie Huo (Kent, Wash.) earned 15 pars during her round as she shot 75 (+3) to complete the tournament in a tie for 30th place at 227 (+11).

Dorsey Addicks (Big Sky, Mont.) also earned 15 pars in the third round, along with one birdie, as she shot 74 (+2) to finish in a tie for 35th place at 228 (+12). Amanda Beyke (Federal Way, Wash.) posted a third straight 77 (+5) for a three-round score of 231 (+15), good enough for a tie for 50th place. Ellen Brantberg (Stockholm, Sweden) shot 80 (+8) to end up in a tie for 91st place at 240 (+24).

As a team, Seattle U posted its best score of the tournament, shooting 298 (+10) to finish in eighth place with a 54-hole total of 908 (+44). Nevada won the team title by seven strokes over Washington State with a final score of 888 (+24), with Genevieve Ling of Boise State taking medalist honors with a three-round total of even-par 216.

Seattle University now prepares for the Western Athletic Conference Golf Championships, taking place April 20-22 at the Wigwam Golf Resort in Litchfield Park, Ariz. A victory by the Redhawks will qualify them for their first appearance in the NCAA Division I Golf Tournament since reclassifying as a Division I program.
