The Seattle University women’s golf team combined to post a better score in the second round Monday, but the Redhawks still find themselves in 14th place after two rounds of the John Kirk Panther Intercollegiate, hosted by Georgia State University at the Eagle’s Landing Country Club.

Dorsey Addicks (Big Sky, Mont.) made a significant move up the leaderboard, shooting 74 (+2) thanks to three birdies over a four-hole span to end the day in a tie for 18th place at 154 (+10). Alexus Song (Auburn, Wash.) also shot 74 (+2) Monday, collecting two birdies and 13 pars in a steady round that improved her position into a tie for 29th place with a two-round total of 155 (+11).

Jamie Huo (Kent, Wash.) earned two birdies during her round of 78 (+6), finishing the day in a tie for 51st place at 158 (+14). Ellen Brantberg (Stockholm, Sweden) shot 87 (+15) to fall into 74th place with a 36-hole total of 166 (+22), and Amanda Beyke (Federal Way, Wash.) shot 92 (+20) to end the day in 81st place at 181 (+37).

As a team, Seattle U shaved seven strokes off its first-round total, posting a second-round score of 313 (+25) to complete two rounds at 633 (+57), currently in 14th place in the team standings. Middle Tennessee shot a tournament-best round of 295 (+7) to move into the lead at 600 (+24) by three strokes over Morehead State, while Fatima Fern Cano of Troy and Lauren Court of Georgia State posted the only two under-par rounds of the day to move into a tie for the lead at 143 (-1).

The third and final round of the John Kirk Panther Intercollegiate is scheduled for a 9 a.m. local time (6 a.m. Pacific time) shotgun start Tuesday, March 31, with the Seattle University golfers teeing off from the 13th, 14th, and 15th holes.
