For the second straight year, Seattle University guard Isiah Umipig (Federal Way, Wash.) has been voted Second Team All-District by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC), announced Friday by the national organization.

Umipig finished the 2014-15 season second in the Western Athletic Conference in scoring at 17.0 points per game, plus he led the league in free throw percentage (.845) and three-pointers made per game (3.62). Within Division I, he is third in the country in three-pointers made per game, 25th in three-point field goal percentage (41.8%), and 50th in free throw percentage.

Umipig, a First Team All-WAC selection as well as a member of the All-WAC Tournament Team, broke the Seattle U and WAC records for most made three-pointers in a single season with 123, including tying a WAC Tournament record with a season-high eight three-pointers against UMKC in the tournament semifinals. He leaves Seattle U with the top two single-season marks in made three-pointers as well as second on the program’s career three-pointer list with 229.

After transferring from Cal State Fullerton and sitting out the 2012-13 season, Umipig made an immediate impact on the Redhawk program, averaging 19.6 points per game during his junior campaign. He became just the 13th player in program history to accumulate at least 1,000 points over the course of two straight seasons, finishing 25th on the Seattle U all-time scoring list with 1,164 points. He completed his career having made 32 free throw attempts in a row to move up into second place on Seattle U’s list for career free throw percentage at .836 (209-for-250).

Umipig is one of four players from the WAC to be honored on one of the NABC All-District Six teams, which also includes the Big Sky Conference. WAC Freshman of the Year Pascal Siakam of New Mexico State earned First Team honors, while Umipig is joined on the second team by WAC Player of the Year Martez Harrison from UMKC and Daniel Mullings of New Mexico State.

Seattle University finished the 2014-15 season 18-16, advancing to the finals of the WAC Tournament and to the semifinals of the College Basketball Invitational.
