After playing her final home game in Redhawk uniform on Saturday, Seattle University women’s basketball’s Makenna Clark (Lake Tapps, Wash.) has been named Featured Student-Athlete of the Week on GoSeattleU.com for the week of Mar. 2-8, 2015. This is the team’s second such honor this season as Wilma Afunugo (Plano, Texas) was also named for the week of Jan. 19-25, 2015.

Clark earned the start versus Grand Canyon on Mar. 7, grabbing two rebounds and dishing out an assist. During her senior campaign thus far, she has made four starts, appearing in all 29 games, also shooting 79.2 percent (19-for-24) from the free throw line, good for third on the squad.

Clark also excels academically with a 3.42 cumulative GPA as a nursing major.

The Redhawks earned the No. 4 seed in this week’s Western Athletic Conference tournament and will face the No. 5 Utah Valley Wolverines on Wednesday, Mar. 11 at 2 p.m. in Las Vegas. Links to live stats, the audio broadcast with Brian Abker on the call, and the WAC Digital Network broadcast will be on the women’s basketball schedule page at GoSeattleU.com.

The Seattle University athletics department names a Featured Student-Athlete each Tuesday based on performances both in the classroom and in competition.
