The Seattle University women’s swim team is one of 143 Division I programs to receive the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Fall Scholar All-America Team Award, announced Tuesday morning by the national organization.

The Fall Team Scholar All American award is presented to college and university swimming and diving teams who have achieved a grade point average of 3.0 or higher in the fall semester/quarter.

Seattle U finished in a tie for 34th among the 143 squads with a 3.43 grade point average during the fall 2014 quarter. The Redhawks helped the Western Athletic Conference show strong representation, as seven WAC women’s swim programs (Bakersfield, Grand Canyon, Idaho, New Mexico State, North Dakota, Northern Arizona, Seattle U) received the academic honor.

The Seattle University men’s and women’s swim teams left Tuesday morning for San Antonio, Texas, and the 2015 WAC Swimming and Diving Championships, to be held Feb. 25-28 at the Palo Alto College Natatorium. Live results for the entire meet will be available through a link on the schedule pages for both men’s and women’s swimming on GoSeattleU.com. Live video of the finals sessions will be streamed online by the WAC Digital Network (www.wacsports.com/watch).
