After a delay of over an hour due to fog, Seattle University moved into sixth place as play was suspended due to darkness before the completion of the second round of the Folino Invitational, hosted by Cal State Fullerton at Industry Hills Golf Club.

Shane Wathanasaynee (Los Alamitos, Calif.) led the Redhawks after the first round with a score of two-over-par 74, featuring an eagle on the par-five first hole as well as three birdies. He has been steady in the second round with two birdies against just one bogey to move into fifth place at one over par after 15 holes.

Ross Kukula (Ocean Park, Wash.) closed out his opening round 76 (+4) with four birdies over his final five holes, and he continued his solid play with four birdies through the first 13 holes of his second round to remain at four over par for the tournament. Joe Harvie (Orting, Wash.) birdied the opening hole of each round, but he currently sits at 11 over par after a first round score of 77 (+5) and a second round score of six over par through 15 holes.

Patrick Sato (Bellevue, Wash.) birdied the final two holes of his opening round to post a score of 78 (+6), and two more birdies in the second round have helped him stay at nine over par through 15 holes of the second round. Kyle Cornett (Mill Creek, Wash.) is currently at 13 over par through 15 holes of his second round after shooting 80 (+8) in the morning round.

As a team, Seattle U combined for an opening round score of 305 (+17), tied with UC Santa Barbara for sixth place after the first round. The Redhawks ended the day in solo sixth place with a current second round score of seven over par. Sacramento State will hold a three-stroke lead over British Columbia when play resumes, with the Hornets’ Aaron Beverly and the Thunderbirds’ Nate Ollis tied for the individual lead at three under par.
