The third Seattle University Courtside Club Luncheon, a monthly event in which fans of Redhawk men’s basketball receive the latest update about the program, will take place at FX McRory's in Pioneer Square Tuesday, Feb. 17, starting at 11:45 a.m.
Steve Kelley, the long-time sports columnist for The Seattle Times who retired, will be the special guest speaker. Kelley retired after 31 years at the newspaper, covering everything from the NCAA Basketball Tournament to numerous NBA Finals to several Olympic Games. He was named Washington Sportswriter of the Year four times by the National Sportswriter and Sportscaster Association of America.
Seattle U head coach Cameron Dollar will update the attendees on the Redhawks’ progress during the first half of the Western Athletic Conference season. He will also look ahead to the upcoming three-game homestand, featuring the Senior Night game against Bakersfield on Feb. 28, as well as the WAC Tournament in March.
FX McRory's is located at 419 Occidental Avenue South in the Pioneer Square section of Seattle. Attendees are encouraged to park in the Century Link North OPEN AIR lot (enter the lot at Second Ave S & S King Street). Pay the attendant the posted price in advance; the restaurant will provide guests with two-hour validation to lower the final cost. When you leave the luncheon, FX McRory's staff will give you a receipt. Upon exiting the lot, hand the receipt to the parking attendant to receive a refund. The final parking fee should amount to $3 for two hours. Parking in excess of two hours may incur an additional charge.
The cost to attend the luncheon is $25, and interested guests are asked to register by Friday, Feb. 13, by clicking here.
