HOME SWEET HOME: Seattle University looks to extend its three-game home winning streak as it returns to KeyArena for a conference contest against Texas-Pan American Thursday night. The Redhawks are also hoping to snap a two-game losing streak and get right back into the race for the conference title. The Broncs have not won a true road game since November 17, and Seattle U would like to keep it that way against their conference foe.

THE UTAH VALLEY GAME: Seattle University attempted to work its way back into its Western Athletic Conference opener, but Utah Valley University built a significant lead in the first half and was able to maintain its advantage throughout the second half on the way to a 70-52 victory Saturday night at the UCCU Center in Orem, Utah. William Powell notched his first career double-double, leading the Redhawks with 11 points and 10 rebounds, while Jadon Cohee finished with 10 points, four rebounds, and three assists. Jack Crook collected nine points, but Isiah Umipig and Jarell Flora were held to seven points apiece, as the WAC leaders in made three-pointers were held to just one long distance basket combined in the game. The Redhawks shot 41.7 percent (20-of-48) from the field, including just 1-of-14 from behind the three-point line, and 73.3 percent (11-of-15) from the free throw line. During the game, Seattle U committed 16 turnovers, leading to 17 Wolverine points, while the Redhawks were able to score just seven points off 10 Utah Valley turnovers. The Wolverines also won the rebounding battle, 39-29.

SCOUTING TEXAS-PAN AMERICAN: The Broncs enter Thursday’s game with a 7-10 overall record after losing to Texas-San Antonio Monday night, 68-43. UT Pan American won its WAC opener last Saturday against Chicago State, 64-59. The Broncs are scoring 67.2 points per game and giving up 73.5 points per contest. As a team, Texas-Pan American is shooting 43.2 percent from the field, including 32.8 percent from behind the three-point line, and 66.3 percent from the free throw line. Janari Joesaar leads the team with 18.8 points per game (tops in the WAC) and 7.6 rebounds per game (second in the league). Shaquille Hines is scoring 13.3 points per game as he is shooting 52.5 percent from the field, and Shaquille Boga is contributing 12.6 points and 3.9 assists per game, leading both the team and the conference in assists.

SEATTLE U VS. TEXAS-PAN AMERICAN: This will be the third meeting all-time between Seattle U and Texas-Pan American. In the first season as conference foes last year, the Redhawks swept the season series from the Broncs. On January 11, 2014, at the UTPA Fieldhouse, Seattle U defeated UTPA, 64-46. Deshaun Sunderhaus notched a double-double with 22 points and 13 rebounds as he shot 9-of-12 from the field and 4-of-5 from the free throw line. Isiah Umipig went 9-of-12 from the free throw line as he collected 16 points, six rebounds, and seven assists. On Feb. 6, 2014, at KeyArena, the Redhawks earned an 83-62 victory over the Broncs. Isiah Umipig hit five three-pointers as he scored 21 points, while Shore Adenekan notched a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
