Seattle U to Take First Road Trip of 2015: Seattle University women’s basketball opens Western Athletic Conference road play and takes their first road trip of 2015. The Redhawks will face UTPA on Thursday, Jan. 15 and New Mexico State on Saturday, Jan. 17 before returning home for three straight contests to finish the month of January.
Home Sweet Home: With a record-high 20 home games this season, SU is already through 14 games of their 2014-15 home schedule, completing 10 of 20 (including exhibitions) prior to the Christmas holiday. The Redhawks just finished a stretch in which they played 11 of 12 on their home court (Nov. 29-Jan. 10).

Scouting UTPA (8-8): UTPA opened their WAC schedule with a 75-60 win at Chicago State, dropping their previous two contests at VCU and New Jersey Institute of Technology. Last season, the Redhawks won both meetings with the Broncs (84-62 in Seattle on Jan. 11 and 75-68 in OT in Edinburg on Feb. 6).

The Redhawks are 4-1 vs. the Aggies in conference play the past two seasons, including in the WAC tournament as SU ended NMSU’s season in 2012-13. The teams split meetings last year as the Redhawks won, 61-51, in Seattle on Jan. 9 and the Aggies won, 86-81, in Las Cruces on Feb. 8.
