The Seattle University baseball program has set the date for its annual fundraising auction and dinner, as the 2015 Meet the Redhawks Night will take place Friday, January 30, at the Bell Harbor International Conference Center, located at 2211 Alaskan Way on the Seattle waterfront.
The Redhawks are pleased to have major league players Raul Ibanez and Brian Hunter, as well as Seattle Mariners play-by-play broadcaster Rick Rizzs, join them on this special night. There will be a cocktail reception and silent auction from 5-6:30 p.m., with the dinner program scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m.
The annual event is a great opportunity for supporters of the Seattle U baseball program to meet the 2015 team, interact with other people involved in the baseball program, and help the team financially. Last year, money raised at Meet the Redhawks went towards the continuation of the Connolly Center locker room project as well as other important projects such as improving Bannerwood Park.
Among the many auction items to be offered is an annual hunting trip to Montana with head coach Donny Harrel. Last year, Steve Stirrett submitted the highest bid and traveled with Harrel and fellow baseball supporter Kevin Krieger to the Spear Lazy U Ranch outside Wilsall, Montana.
The cost to attend the event, which includes a no-host reception and dinner, is $65 for a single adult, $35 for children 14 and under, $650 for a table of eight, or $1000 for a VIP table of eight. The Seattle University baseball team is coming off a 26-win season in 2014, including a 13-11 record within the Western Athletic Conference that qualified the squad for last year’s WAC Baseball Tournament. The Redhawks are scheduled to open the 2015 season with a four-game series against Saint Mary’s College Feb. 13-15 at Bannerwood Park in Bellevue, Wash.
