Craig Nisgor, head coach of the Seattle University men’s swim team, has announced that Garrett Suter (Aurora, Colo.) signed a National Letter of Intent during the November signing period to attend Seattle U and join the Redhawk swim program starting in the 2015-16 academic year.

Suter is a 6’3”, 185-pound swimmer whose primary strokes are backstroke and freestyle. He has helped Regis Jesuit High School win three consecutive state titles (2012-14) and has his eye on leading the Raiders to another state championship in a few months. One of this year’s team captains, Suter also competes for Denver Swim Academy.

“Garrett will be a big contributor for us in both backstroke and freestyle. Over the past two years he has really had some great time improvements, and we know that he will be a strong player on our team in those events,” said Nisgor.

At Regis Jesuit High School, Suter is a member of the Diversity Action Group and RJ Media. He will join a Seattle U men’s swimming squad that loses just two seniors to graduation and continues to make strides as a Division I program.

After taking fall quarter finals, the Seattle University swim team will head to Coronado, Calif., for a winter training session Dec. 14-19. The Redhawks return to the Connolly Center Pool to face Pacific Lutheran Friday, Jan. 9, starting at 6 p.m., and Whitworth Saturday, Jan. 10, beginning at 1 p.m.
