Seattle University women’s basketball will be holding their first annual “Women in Leadership” game on Thursday, Dec. 4 at KeyArena at Seattle Center as they host the University of Washington. Five women from the Seattle community will be honored as part of the evening’s festivities, with a profile of each to appear on GoSeattleU.com leading up to the event. This is the fifth of the five-part series.
Fé Lopez was named Director of the Community Police Commission in Seattle in February 2014, which provides community input on proposed Seattle Police Department (SPD) reforms. The CPC represents a broad range of community perspectives, engages communities for feedback, and recommends changes to the SPD, giving community members a voice and a stake in SPD reform policies.
Lopez previously served as president of the Latina/o Bar Association of Washington and received the 2013 Excellence in Diversity Award from the Washington State Bar Association as well as the 2011 La Justicia Award from the SU Law School. She also served as a member of Mayor Murray’s Transition Team.
A 2006 graduate of the Seattle University School of Law, she previously served as the Director of Alumni Relations & Annual Fund as well as the Director for Student Life for the Seattle U Law School. While in school at the Seattle U School of Law, she was an ARC Scholar and served as SBA President.
