Seattle U Starts Seven Game Homestand Versus Former WAC Foe: After playing three of their first four contests on the road, Seattle University women’s basketball (1-3) is set to host the Idaho Vandals on Saturday, Nov. 29 at 1 p.m., starting a seven-game homestand that will end just before Christmas. On the overall stretch through Jan. 10, the Redhawks will play 11 of their next 12 contests at home.
Food Drive to Support Northwest Harvest: Fans who bring a donation for the food drive to benefit Northwest Harvest for Saturday's game will receive a special $3 ticket.
Scouting Idaho (1-2 as of 11/24): The Vandals lost their season opener at Cal State Northridge (Nov. 14) as well as their home opener vs. San Diego (Nov. 22) after squeaking out a win at UC Santa Barbara, 47-44, on Nov. 17. This meeting between the Redhawks and Vandals will be as non-conference opponents for the first time since 2011-12, as the back-to-back conference champs left the Western Athletic Conference following the 2013-14 year to join the Big Sky Conference. Before making the trip to Seattle, Idaho will travel to Wyoming on Nov. 25.
Women in Leadership Game Set For Dec. 4: The first annual Women in Leadership game will take place on Dec. 4 as the Redhawks host Washington at KeyArena at Seattle Center. Seattle U women’s basketball will honor five key leaders in the Seattle community and a special pregame networking event will take place for emerging female leaders. Karen Bryant, Fe Lopez, Anne Farrell, Michele Murray, and Kathleen O’Toole will be honored as part of the event. Stay tuned to GoSeattleU.com as the event nears for more information.
