Seattle U Makes Final November Roadtrip to Pullman, Bozeman: After opening their regular season with a win at home vs. Portland State after a road loss at Long Beach State, Seattle University women’s basketball (1-1) will travel to Washington State on Friday, Nov. 21 and Montana State on Sunday, Nov. 23. This trip will mark the Redhawks’ second to last non-conference roadtrip, as they will play at home for seven straight contests from Nov. 29-Dec. 21 before traveling to Oregon on Dec. 29 just before the New Year.

Scouting Washington State (2-0 as of Nov. 18): The Cougars went 2-0 on opening weekend with a 76-60 victory over Dayton on Nov. 14 and a 84-34 win over Idaho State on Nov. 16, both in Pullman. Including their single exhibition, Friday’s contest will be the team’s fifth straight home game to open the season, as they host Nebraska on Wednesday, Nov. 19 before welcoming the Redhawks. Tia Presley (23.5 ppg) and Lia Galdeira (22.5 ppg) are averaging in double figures after the first two contests of the season.

Scouting Montana State (1-1): The Bobcats opened the season last weekend with a 1-1 record after falling to Boise State, 75-60, on Nov. 14 and defeating Cal State Fullerton, 63-47, on Nov. 16. Montana State will host Gonzaga on Friday in their home opener before the Redhawks come to town on Sunday. Through the first two games, Jasmine Homees (19.5 ppg) and Alexa Dawkins (10.5 ppg) lead MSU in scoring.

Seattle U Picked to Contend For WAC Title Preseason Polls: In a vote of the Western Athletic Conference women’s basketball media, the Redhawks were picked to finish second in the WAC in 2014-15 while in the league’s Coaches Poll, SU was chosen to finish third. In the media poll, Seattle U also received one first place vote. Sophomore Wilma Afunugo, who led the league in field-goal percentage in 2013-14 as a freshman, was named Preseason Second Team All-Conference by the league’s women’s basketball media. College Sports Madness also named junior Taelor Ross to the Preseason Second Team All-Conference list.

Women in Leadership Game Set For Dec. 4: The first annual Women in Leadership game will take place on Dec. 4 as the Redhawks host Washington at KeyArena at Seattle Center. Seattle U women’s basketball will honor several key leaders in the Seattle community and a special pregame networking event will take place for emerging female leaders.
