Seattle University women’s rowing competed at the Portland Fall Classic in their second of three fall races, finishing second in the varsity 8+ and varsity 4+ races and fourth in the novice 8+ race.

“We had some great racing today,” said head coach Jenny Park. “The varsity gained a lot of speed over the last two weeks and the novices had a great first race. I’m very happy with how things panned out this weekend.”

In the varsity 8+ and varsity 4+ races, the Redhawks narrowly lost to Portland in both races. The novice 8+ finished fourth in their first collegiate race ahead of Willamette University and Pacific.

Seattle U will close the 2014 fall season next Sunday back in Seattle at the Head of the Lake on the Montlake Cut and will open their spring competition season in March 2015.
