“We have to do a better job of holding the lead, because we led 2-0, but we took our foot off the gas and lost our focus,” said head coach Pete Fewing. “I give Kansas City credit for their three goals and for finishing their chances but we could have closed that game out with better focus. The most important thing is what we will learn out of this and we will get better.”

Wes White would start the UMKC comeback in the 76th minute on a header off a corner kick by Tato Chiaparro before Austin Wilcox tied the game on an assist by Guerrero Pino 10 minutes later.
