Seattle University softball head coach Dan Powers has announced the team’s 2015 schedule, highlighted by six early season tournaments, the most home non-conference games thus far for the program, and an exciting slate of Western Athletic Conference games.

"We look forward to a challenging schedule this season," said head coach Dan Powers. "We have five All-WAC honorees returning this year. Our underclassmen are continuing to develop and will bring competition and depth at every position.  I am very excited to see this Redhawk team play this spring."

The Redhawks open the season Feb. 6-8 at their second straight Kajikawa Classic, hosted by Arizona State University. While in Tempe, they will face New Mexico, San Jose State, Western Michigan, Bradley, and UC Riverside.

The next weekend (Feb.13-15) takes Seattle U back to the desert for the Wilson-Demarini Desert Classic at UNLV where they will play University of Nevada-Reno, Utah, Boise State, Hawaii, and for the second time this season, New Mexico.

SU heads to California for the next two straight weekends for the Santa Clara Bronco Classic (Feb. 20-22) hosted by Santa Clara and the Louisville Slugger Invitational (Feb. 26-28) on the campus of Long Beach State. The first weekend, Santa Clara, Idaho State, and San Jose State will be the Redhawks’ competition while the next weekend, SU will face Boise State, Long Beach State, Portland State, Southern Utah, and Weber State.

The month of March brings the Redhawks back to the Emerald City for the University of Washington’s Spring Classic from Mar. 6-8 at Husky Softball Stadium. Seattle U will match up against Miami of Ohio, host Washington, and Cal State Northridge at the three-day tournament.

The final preseason tournament will take the Redhawks back to California for the LMU Invitational in Los Angeles. SU will face Fairleigh Dickinson, LMU, Bethune Cookman, and UC Riverside from Mar. 20-22.

The Redhawks open their home schedule with a doubleheader on Mar. 11 vs. Notre Dame de Namur before hosting Big 12 powerhouse Texas Tech on Mar. 18. They also welcome Northwest University on Mar. 25 for a single game before WAC play begins.

Seattle U will host two more non-conference events in the midst of league play, hosting Portland State for an Apr. 1 doubleheader and Washington for a single game on Apr. 15.

On Mar. 27-28, Seattle U will open their conference schedule in Phoenix versus Grand Canyon, the 2014 WAC Regular Season Champions. The Redhawks will also take WAC trips to Utah Valley (Apr.10-11), who won the WAC Tournament just a season ago, and Kansas City (Apr. 17-18) and will host home league series versus New Mexico State (Apr. 3-4) and Bakersfield (Apr. 24-25).
