The men’s team begins the season on Sept. 20-21 at the Portland Invitational in Portland, Ore. followed by three tournaments in the state of Washington including the EWU Invitational (Sept. 26-28) in Cheney, Wash., the Gonzaga Invitational (Oct. 24-26) in Spokane, Wash., and the PNW Championships (Nov. 7-9) in Seattle, Wash.
Their spring season will begin on Jan. 10-11 in Eugene, Ore. where they will face Eastern Washington and host Oregon on back-to-back days. The Redhawks then return to Seattle for a pair of matches on Jan. 24 at the University of Washington vs. Portland and Wisconsin followed by a third hometown match vs. Hawaii three days later.
The team will close out the month of February and open March in Colorado Springs, Colo. vs. Abilene Christian (Feb. 27), Air Force (Mar. 1), and Northern Colorado (Mar. 2) before returning home again for home matches vs. Idaho (Mar. 10) and Illinois State (Mar. 11) a week later.
The Redhawks will have a double dose of the Huskies on Mar. 13, playing UW at both 4 and 6 p.m. on Montlake before taking their annual Spring Break trip to Las Vegas, Nev. to face Grand Canyon (Mar. 22), Southern Utah (Mar. 23), and Idaho State (Mar. 24).
Seattle U will close out the regular season with a pair of road trips to the lower and upper Midwest including a pair of games in Edinburg, Texas vs. Chicago State (Mar. 27) and Kansas City (Mar. 28) and a trio of matches in Chicago, Ill. vs. New Mexico State (Apr. 10), Texas Pan-American (Apr. 11), and Grand Canyon (Apr. 12).
The women’s squad will open fall competition going back and forth between Washington and California with a pair of tournaments in the Evergreen State at the Cougar Classic (Sept. 24-26) in Pullman, Wash. and at the Gonzaga Invitational (Nov. 7-9) in Spokane, Wash and a set of tournaments two states to the south at the Stanford ITA (Oct. 10-14) in Palo Alto, Calif. and the Cal State Northridge Invitational (Oct. 26-28) in Northridge, Calif.
The Redhawk women’s team remains in their home state to start the season at Washington (Jan. 9), versus Washington State (Jan. 23) in Pullman, Wash. and versus Gonzaga (Jan. 23) and Montana State (Jan. 24) in Spokane, Wash. as well as Eastern Washington (Jan. 25) in Cheney, Wash.
SU then goes one state to the east to take on Boise State (Jan. 30) and Weber State (Jan. 31) to close January in Boise, Idaho before returning home to host Idaho (Feb. 7) and Portland State (Feb. 13) at Sand Point Tennis Center.
The women close the month of February and open March in Colorado, facing Colorado State (Feb. 26) in Fort Collins and Air Force (Feb. 27), Montana State (Mar. 1), and Northern Colorado (Mar. 2) in Colorado Springs, Colo. They will return home for the final time in the 2014 regular season to host Portland (Mar. 6) and Eastern Washington (Mar. 14), both at Sand Point Tennis Center.
Seattle U heads to the Southwest to take on Chicago State (Mar. 20), UTPA (Mar. 21) and New Mexico State (Mar. 22) in Las Cruces, N.M. and UTEP (Mar. 23) in El Paso, Texas before a single Pacific Northwest matchup vs. Cal Poly (Mar. 26) in Portland, Ore. They close the regular season in Phoenix at the beginning of April versus Kansas City (Apr. 4) and Grand Canyon (Apr. 5).
All five eligible teams on both the men’s and women’s sides will advance to the Western Athletic Conference tournament on Apr. 24-26 in Kansas City, Mo. Stay tuned to GoSeattleU.com throughout the season for updates on the teams.
