The Seattle University women’s golf team continued its advancement up the leaderboard Tuesday, finishing in sixth place at the Cougar Cup, hosted by Washington State University at the Palouse Ridge Golf Club.
Junior Amanda Beyke (Federal Way, Wash.) once again led the Redhawks, shooting 74 (+2) in the final round for a three-round total of 222 (+6), finishing in a tie for 10th place. Ellen Brantberg (Stockholm, Sweden) maintained her consistency throughout the tournament, shooting 76 (+4) Tuesday for a 54-hole score of 227 (+11), tying for 21st place.
Also tied for 21st place was sophomore Dorsey Addicks (Big Sky, Mont.), who competed as an individual during the tournament. Addicks shot 77 (+5) in the final round to end up at 227. Also playing as an individual, Tori Hoff (Orinda, Calif.) birdied two of her final four holes of the day to finish her round at 76 (+4), posting a cumulative score of 228 (+12) to finish in a tie for 24th place.
Jamie Huo (Kent, Wash.) and Alexus Song (Auburn, Wash.) both shot 77 (+5) in the final round, with Huo ending up in a tie for 32nd place at 231 (+15), followed by Song in a tie for 35th place at 233 (+17). Monica Keo (Kaneohe, Hawaii) ended the tournament in a tie for 45th place at 236 (+20) after shooting 80 (+8) Tuesday, while Juhee Lee (Wilsonville, Ore.) shot 82 (+10) in the third round for a final score of 247 (+31), ending up in 53rd place.
As a team, Seattle University combined for a third round score of 304 (+16) to end the tournament at 910 (+46), moving past Sacramento State into sixth place in the final standings. Host school Washington State went wire-to-wire with the team title, finishing ahead of BYU by 16 strokes, and the Cougars’ Nani Yanagi shot one of only two under-par rounds during the final day to earn medalist honors by three strokes at 210 (-6).
The Seattle University women’s golf team heads to Langdon Farms Golf Club in Aurora, Ore., next Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 29-30, for the Rose City Collegiate, hosted by Portland State University. The Redhawks conclude the fall schedule by hosting the Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational Oct. 13-14 at the Tacoma Country Club.
