Jersey Retirement: On Sept. 13, the men’s soccer program retired two jersey numbers - #3 for Tom Hardy, the 1997 NAIA National Player of the Year and #9 for Bobby McAlister, the 2004 NCAA Divsion I National Player of the Year.
Scouting St. Mary’s: The Gaels (3-2-0) have earned two impressive wins over ranked opponents this season including vs. No. 4 Washington, 2-1, in OT on Sept. 7 and, most recently, vs. No. 24 Florida Gulf Coast, 1-0, on Sept. 14. Goalkeeper Andre Rawls was named Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for recording a combined 10 saves in wins over previously undefeated Central Arkansas and No. 24 FGCU.
Seattle U Chosen as Preseason WAC Title Winners: In a vote by the league’s 10 head coaches, the Redhawks were picked to repeat their 2014 WAC men’s socer championship from just a season ago. They received seven of nine first place votes cast, leading with a total 76 points. Kyle Bjornethun represented the Redhawks on the Preseason All-WAC Team. Cystic Fibrosis Game Set For Oct. 18: The Redhawks’ match vs. Utah Valley on Oct. 18 will be the team’s annual Cystic Fibrosis game and fans will receive a ticket discount ($3 tickets) by wearing blue to the match.
Men's Soccer Travels to Face St. Mary's
The Redhawks return home on Sept. 26 vs. OSU and Sept. 28 vs. Gonzaga.
