After reporting to campus, undergoing physicals, and attending meetings Tuesday, Sept. 9, the Seattle University baseball team headed to Bannerwood Park to begin fall practice Wednesday, Sept. 10.

The Redhawks welcome back 18 players who were on the 2013-14 roster, and they are joined by 14 newcomers (13 freshmen, one junior college transfer) for a 32-man roster in 2014-15. Seattle U is coming off a season in which it won 26 games, the most since the program was reestablished at the varsity level in 2010, and qualified for the Western Athletic Conference Baseball Tournament, the program's first Division I postseason competition in 60 years.

"It was great getting back out on the field, and the guys' energy levels were outstanding. I really liked how our new arms looked. Fall will be important to us to create great team chemistry with 14 new players. Our goal is to uphold that energy level of excitement and continue to get better on a daily basis. No doubt though - the sunny skies in Seattle in September give us a wonderful opportunity to prepare for a championship spring season," Seattle U head baseball coach Donny Harrel, now in his seventh year at the school, said.

The schedule for the 2015 spring schedule is being finalized and will be released once it is completed. Seattle University enters its third year competing within the Western Athletic Conference, with the 2015 WAC Baseball Tournament scheduled to take place May 20-24 at the newly renovated Hohokam Stadium, home of the Oakland A's spring training facility.
