Redhawks Host Eagles from Eastside: After taking their first regular season road trip to Honolulu, Hawaii for the OHANA Hotels and Resorts No Ka Oi, Seattle U women’s soccer (2-2-0) hosts Eastern Washington (2-1-0) in their only contest on the weekend on Friday, Sept. 5 at 7 p.m. Following each home game this season, members of the women’s soccer team will be signing postgame autographs. Tickets: Single game tickets can be purchased starting 60 minutes prior to kickoff at the Championship Field main gate (corner of 14th and E Cherry). The Redhawk Sports Pass can also be purchased for $50 for the 2014-15 season by calling the Redhawk Ticket Office at (206) 398-GOSU or following the link under "Tickets" on GoSeattleU.com. The RSP includes general admission to all men's and women's soccer, women's basketball, volleyball, and baseball home contests.

Scouting Eastern Washington: EWU is 2-1-0 to open the season with wins vs. Idaho, 4-0, most recently on Aug. 29 and a 3-0 shutout vs. Bakersfield on Aug. 24 after opening the season with an overtime loss at Fresno State, 2-1, on Aug. 22. The Eagles open 2014 with six straight road contests before opening conference play with their home match of the season on Sept. 26. Goalkeeper Nathalie Schwery was named Big Sky Co-Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 2 while forward Cassie Black was selected as a candidate for the 2014 Senior CLASS Award®. The Redhawks and Eagles last faced on Aug. 25, 2013 in Cheney, SU’s first win of the season, a 2-0 shutout.

Verdoia Named Senior CLASS Award® Top 30 Candidate: Stephanie Verdoia was named one of 30 DI women’s soccer student-athletes across the country as a candidate for the 2014 Senior CLASS Award®. The award focuses on four particular areas - community, classroom, character, and competition - and is one of the most prestigious awards in collegiate athletics. The list will be narrowed down to a top 10 in October with the winner announced at the 2014 College Cup® championships in December.
