“We are very fortunate to have him at Seattle University," said Fewing. "He does a fantastic job and it’s no surprise the team went from three wins to 11 with Nate on staff. He’s an excellent coach and recruiter and I assume this is the last step before he becomes a head college soccer coach one day. He’s very deserving of this promotion and he’s worked hard prior to his time at Seattle U and certainly during his time at Seattle U. We are very fortunate and the university was behind this promotion.”
Daligcon was hired as an assistant coach prior to the 2013 season, a season in which the team improved their win total by eight, went undefeated in conference play, and won the conference regular season and tournament titles. The Redhawks also made the program’s first ever appearance in the NCAA Division I tournament, defeating Creighton, 2-1, in the First Round.
Prior to Seattle U, Daligcon served as head coach for local Seattle club teams including Seattle United B01 Copa and G95 Copa. He led Emerald City FC G93 A to the 2005 Washington State Cup championship, also guiding two other squads to the state cup finals. He also previously served as assistant men’s soccer coach at his alma mater, Seattle Pacific University, where he was a two-time All-American.
The Redhawks look forward to the 2014 season as they build upon the successes of 2013 and defend their conference title in their second season as members of the Western Athletic Conference.
