The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced the 2013-14 NABC Honors Court and Seattle University men’s basketball’s Luiz Bidart (Sao Paulo, Brazil) has been named to the court. Bidart is one of just 12 student-athletes from across the Western Athletic Conference to be honored.

Bidart, an international business major, also represented the men’s basketball team with back-to-back WAC All-Academic Team nods. On the court, he competed in 29 of 30 games for the Redhawks in 2013-14 and ranked second on the team in free-throw percentage (.714).

The Honors Court recognizes men’s collegiate basketball student-athletes who excel in academics during the past year. Nearly 900 student-athletes from more than 335 colleges and universities across the country comprise the list.

In order to be named, a student-athlete must academically be a junior or senior and a varsity player, have a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the 2013-14 academic year, have attended their institution for at least one year, and must be an NCAA or NAIA student-athlete with a NABC member coach.
