Seattle University women’s swimming head coach Craig Nisgor has announced that two student-athletes have recently committed to attend the University and join the Redhawk swim program starting in the 2014-15 academic year.

Madison Dickman (Sacramento, Calif.) earned varsity letters in swimming, water polo, and basketball at Rio Americano High School. She was an all-league performer for swimming in both her junior and senior seasons and was also named MVP of her junior varsity water polo squad. Dickman received the undergrad award in U.S. history and was the photo editor of the school newspaper.

Paige Treff (Orland, Calif.) was a three-time all-league performer at Chico High School. She was named the team’s female sprinter of the year in 2010, received the coach’s award in 2011, and was a team captain in 2013. For the past 10 years, she has also swum for the Chico AquaJets, earning a spot on the sectional team in 2011 and the Sierra Nevada Western Zone Team in both 2011 and 2012. Besides swimming and schoolwork, Treff interned in the Butte County District Attorney’s Office.

Dickman and Treff join Madison Lydig (Spokane, Wash.) and Alexis Martinez (Granite Bay, Calif.) as newcomers for the 2014-15 season. Lydig and Martinez committed to Seattle University by signing National Letters of Intent during the November 2013 signing period.

“We were able to fill out a strong women's class with the addition of Paige and Maddie. Both will be immediate contributors, and we know that they are looking to make an impact right away,” Nisgor said. “Maddie is a multi-sport student athlete who has done very well in swimming while competing in other sports as well. We know that now she is focused 100 percent on swimming and that she is ready to go. Already Paige has done times that would rank in our top 10 in both the 50 and 100 freestyle. Joining with Madi and Alexis, this is a very strong incoming class, and we know that will definitely help us continue to get better.”

The Seattle University women’s swim team set six new school records during the 2013-14 season and finished eighth at the 2014 Western Athletic Conference Swimming and Diving Championships.
