Besagno was a four-year varsity starter and three-time co-captain who helped lead the Redhawk women’s soccer team to WAC regular season and tournament titles as they became just the fourth team in WAC history to finish conference play undefeated this past season. She was named Third Team NSCAA/Continental Tire All-Region as well as First Team All-Conference and to the WAC All-Tournament team. Academically, she was named First Team Capital One Academic All-District VIII as well as Third Team Academic All-America by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Earning Seattle U Dean’s List or President’s List honors for every quarter to date, Besagno was invited to join the Sigma Theta Tau national Honor Society of Nursing at Seattle U.
Lynch served as the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee President as well as the team captain for the Redhawk men’s tennis team in 2013-14. Lynch was named First Team All-WAC in singles as he led the Seattle U team who posted their highest win total since the rebirth of the program. Alongside partner Jason Bediones, Lynch received Second Team All-WAC honors in doubles. He was named WAC Male Tennis Player of the Week twice this season and was one of two who posted a team-high 12 wins during dual play this season. Lynch and Bediones led the team as a pair with nine victories at No. 1 doubles and he has steadily improved his GPA throughout his collegiate career. He also served as co-host of last week’s awards show.
