The Seattle University athletics department is hosting several events during the final weekend of April, as the fall sports continue their spring seasons while one spring sport wraps up its regular season schedule, with all events this weekend free for spectators.

The Redhawk softball team welcomes WAC newcomer Grand Canyon to Logan Field at Seattle University Park for a three-game series. The series is scheduled to begin Friday, April 25, with a doubleheader starting at 4 p.m., followed by the third and final game of the series Saturday, April 26, at 2 p.m.

Before Saturday’s game, the five seniors on the Seattle U softball team will be honored for their contributions to the program. Weather may be an issue with regards to this weekend’s series, so fans are encouraged to visit GoSeattleU.com or follow Seattle U Athletics on Facebook or Twitter (@su_athletics) for the latest updates on the series.

Friday night, the Seattle U men’s soccer team plays under the lights at Championship Field, hosting Western Washington beginning at 7 p.m. Soccer fans have another chance to catch a Redhawk team in action the next day, as the women’s soccer team hosts Portland State at Championship Field Saturday, April 26, at 10 a.m.

Also on Saturday, the Redhawk volleyball team welcomes Washington and Eastern Washington for a series of matches in the South Court of Connolly Center. Seattle U faces Washington at 10 a.m., followed by the Huskies taking on the Eagles at 11:30 a.m. and the Redhawks returning to the court to face Eastern Washington at 1:30 p.m. Admission is free, but there is no permanent seating in the South Court, so fans are asked to bring their own chairs if they hope to sit during the matches.

Along with the home events, the Seattle University women’s golf, men’s tennis, and women’s tennis teams are participating in their respective WAC championship events this weekend, while the women’s rowing team heads to Sacramento, Calif., for the WIRA Championships. The baseball team is in Grand Forks, N.D., to face the University of North Dakota in a three-game WAC series this weekend, and the track and field team will compete at the Ralph Vernacchia Invitational Saturday, April 26, in Bellingham, Wash.

Interested fans are reminded that all events hosted by Seattle University this weekend have free admission for everyone. Once again, visit GoSeattleU.com for the latest results.
