“It was a beautiful day for racing here in Eugene,” said head coach Jenny Park. “I’m so happy with all the results today. The varsity 8+ had their best race of the year and the novice 8+ didn’t let up either.”
In their morning race, the Redhawk varsity 8+ boat finished third with a time of 7:07.09, finishing ahead of Humboldt State, UC San Diego, Lewis and Seattle Pacific, and just behind Portland and Western Washington.
Later in the afternoon, the SU novice 8+ finished first with a time of 7:26.80 ahead of Portland, Humboldt State, and two boats from the University of Oregon.
Seattle U has a week off from competition before competing at the WIRA Championships on Saturday Apr. 26 and Sunday Apr. 27. SU will finish out the year at the Opening Day Regatta on the Montlake Cut on Saturday, May 3.
