The Seattle University women’s golf team played close to the level it did in the first round of the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic, moving up into 11th place after Tuesday’s final round of the tournament hosted by the University of Wyoming at the Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club.
Amanda Beyke (Federal Way, Wash.) shot 76 (+4) for the second consecutive day, ending as the highest-finishing Seattle U player at a tie for 32nd place with a three-round total of 230 (+14). Nicole Gaddie (Salt Lake City, Utah) also shot 76 (+4) in the final round to move up into a tie for 46th place at 233 (+17).
Alexus Song (Auburn, Wash.) posted her best round of the tournament with a 77 (+5) to finish in a tie for 49th place with a cumulative total of 234 (+18). Dorsey Addicks (Big Sky, Mont.) also shot her personal tournament-best with a 77 (+5), moving up into a tie for 58th place with a 54-hole total of 236 (+20). Jamie Huo (Kent, Wash.) closed out her tournament with an 82 (+10), finishing in a tie for 77th place at 242 (+26).
As a team, the Redhawks combined for a third round score of 306 (+18) to end the tournament in 11th place with a final total of 929 (+65). New Mexico State went wire-to-wire to win the team title by nine strokes with a score of 887 (+23), while Annie Freeman of Santa Clara was awarded the individual title after a scorecard playoff, as she tied Samantha Martin of Boise State and Camille Orito of New Mexico State with a three-round total of 215 (-1).
The Seattle University women’s golf team now prepares for the Western Athletic Conference Championships, taking place April 25-27 at the Longbow Golf Club in Mesa, Ariz.
