After recently being named to the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) All-Region Team, Seattle University women’s basketball’s Kacie Sowell has been named a WBCA Honorable Mention All-American.

Sowell, the 2012-13 Western Athletic Conference Player of the Year, is also a two-time First Team All-Conference honoree and was one of just 30 candidates for the prestigious Senior CLASS Award. She became just the fourth player in program history to pass both 1,000 career points and 1,000 career rebounds, finishing sixth on Seattle U’s all-time career scoring list and fourth on the all-time career rebounding list.

Also excelling in the classroom, Sowell is a two-time Division I-AAA Athletics Directors Association Scholar-Athlete Team honoree. A three-time team captain, Sowell led the Redhawks in scoring and rebounding in her final three seasons and holds three of the top four spots in SU’s DI single season records in both categories.

Bakersfield’s Tyonna Outland joins Sowell in representing the Western Athletic Conference on the elite list. The full list of honorees can be found HERE.
