"This is a good chance for the coaching staff to work with players looking to play at the collegiate level,” said Fewing. “Nike ID camps are a great recruiting tool for us as we are able to work with the players and put them through training sessions that we use at Seattle U.
The Nike Summer College ID camps will welcome players of all levels, ages 14 and older, and will be an opportunity for campers to train just like the Seattle U collegiate players. The coaching staff will be on hand to train, observe, and evaluate campers as potential future Redhawks.
Campers will have the opportunity to tour the Seattle U campus and do a Q&A session with the Redhawk coaching staff. There will also be daily 11v11 games where the coaching staff will be able to coach teams, evaluate players, and give players valuable feedback.
The cost for each camp is $250 and does not include housing or meals.
Fewing, the camp director, recently finished his 20th season overall at the helm of the Redhawk men’s soccer program in 2013, leading the team to a WAC Tournament title, and the program’s first ever berth in the NCAA Division I Tournament. Seattle U also recorded the team’s first ever DI Tournament win with a 2-1 come-from-behind first round victory at Creighton on Nov. 21.
