Fighting through rain showers, Seattle University took an 11-6 lead over Texas-Pan American after 4 1/2 innings in Western Athletic Conference baseball action before a curfew at Meridian Park Field halted the contest.
The game is scheduled to resume in the bottom of the fifth inning Sunday, March 30, at 1:35 p.m. at Triton Field located on the campus of Edmonds Community College in Lynnwood, Wash. Seattle U scored a run in the bottom of the first inning, but Texas-Pan American answered with the tying run in the top of the third inning. The Redhawks responded with four runs in the bottom of the third inning, but the Broncs scored five runs in the top of the fourth inning to take a 6-5 lead.
That lead would not last long, as Seattle U scored six times in the bottom of the fourth to pull ahead, 11-6. After UTPA was retired in the top of the fifth inning, the game was halted as the 10 p.m. curfew was too close to start another half-inning.
The game was stopped after the top of the first inning due to significant rain, with a 32-minute delay ensuing. The game had been moved to Meridian Park Field because of unplayable field conditions at Seattle U's normal home field, Bannerwood Park in Bellevue.
