The Seattle University women’s golf team played the first of three rounds Monday in the Anuenue Spring Break Classic, hosted by the University of Hawaii, and ended the day in 14th place after one circuit of The Bay Course.

Juhee Lee (Manhattan, Ore.) got into a groove as the round went along, making three birdies on the back nine to move up into a tie for 26th place with an opening-round score of 76 (+4). Amanda Beyke (Federal Way, Wash.) is in a tie for 52nd place after shooting 79 (+7) in the first 18 holes of the tournament.

Dorsey Addicks (Big Sky, Mont.) shot 81 (+9) to end the day in a tie for 63rd place, with Nicole Gaddie (Salt Lake City, Utah) right behind her in a tie for 68th place after a first-round score of 82 (+10). Jamie Huo (Kent, Wash.) is in a tie for 86th place after posting an opening-round score of 87 (+15).

As a team, Seattle U combined for a first-round score of 318 (+30) to finish the day in 14th place. Pepperdine and Washington are tied for the team lead at two-over-par 290, six strokes ahead of San Jose State, while there is a three-way tie at the top of the individual standings at two-under-par 70 among Betty Chen of UC Davis, Ying Luo of Washington, and Pepperdine’s Grace Na.

The second round of the Anuenue Spring Break Classic is scheduled for a shotgun start Tuesday, March 25, at 7:45 a.m. local time, with the Seattle U golfers starting on holes 13-16.
