GAME #26: Seattle University heads into its final weekend of home games looking to establish positive momentum heading into the WAC Tournament. In a rare occurence, the Redhawks will be facing Chicago State twice in the span of 10 days, starting Thursday night at KeyArena. With the Redhawks facing three teams just ahead of them in the league standings, they have a great opportunity during the final stretch of the regular season to improve their seed for the conference tournament.

SCOUTING CHICAGO STATE: The Cougars come into Thursday’s game with an 11-16 overall record, including a 6-6 record within the Western Athletic Conference, good enough for fourth place in the league standings. Chicago State lost a non-conference game at Eastern Illinois Monday night, 84-62. after defeating Bakersfield at home last Saturday, 73-68. The Cougars are scoring 69.2 points per game and giving up 77.0 points per contest. As a team, Chicago State is shooting 42.0 percent from the field, including 33.6 percent from behind the three-point line, and 68.0 percent from the free throw line. Quinton Pippen, the nephew of NBA Hall of Famer Scottie Pippen, leads the Cougars in scoring at 15.2 points per game, in part because of 74 made three-pointers so far this season. Clarke Rosenberg is averaging 14.5 points per game, shooting 47.9 percent from the field and 74.8 percent from the free throw line. Matt Ross is contributing 11.3 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 1.3 blocked shots per game. This will be the first meeting all-time between Seattle U and Chicago State.

MEN’S BASKETBALL BANQUET: The Seattle University men’s basketball banquet will take place Monday, March 10, in the lower level banquet room of the Space Needle.
